Chanel showcased their cruise collection on 9 May at a former nutmeg plantation in Singapore. The collection was light, airy and ultra feminine. The colour palette consisted of black and white pieces, with navy, cream and sequins.

THE CRUISE COLLECTIONS
It’s almost time for the resort / cruise collections – On Thursday, May 9th Karl Lagerfeld will showcase the Chanel Cruise Collection for 2013/2014 in Singapore. Later this month on May 19th, Raf Simons will debut his first resort collection for the house of Dior in Monaco.
Chanel’s resort collection shows take place in spectacular venues – last season, it was at the palace of Versailles – a Marie Antoinette pastel fantasy, inspired by the idea of ”Versailles in a Socialist France.” This season’s location of the island of Singapore is known as Asia’s leading financial capitals. The resort collections often reflect the show location – it will be interesting to see what has inspired Lagerfeld.
Belgium designer, Raf Simons debut resort collection for Dior is sure to be memorable. Dior last staged an international runway show for a Resort collection back in May 2010. Monaco is beautiful, chic location and knowing what Dior is able to create, (remember Raf Simon’s debut collection from Autumn Couture 2012 with the flowers walls?) we’re in for a treat.
